What are the minimum requirements to run DiveTracker?
DiveTracker was designed to be small (just 1.5MB), fast, and very compatible! It will run on Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000. There are no DLLs, no OCXs, and no hidden or special registry settings. All you need is the executable (DiveTrack.exe)! If you experience ANY problems with DiveTracker, PLEASE email me at DiveTracker@mail.com, and unlike some of the "other" software that's available, you WILL get a response!

Why would I want to use DiveTracker?
About 6 months ago, I wanted a better way to keep track of my dives than just hand-written. I downloaded every scuba-related piece of software I could find, but was disappointed to find they either were "unattractive to the eye" (to say the least), hard to use, took a couple days just to figure out how to record my dives, or just didn't work for me at all! Being a computer programmer with 15 years of experience, I decided there was only one thing to do: write the dive tracking software designed for a Diver, instead of for the techie!

What makes DiveTracker different?
First of all, just take a look at the Info, Training, and Dives pages, and the answer should be clear! Instead of designing a application that looks like every other program, I designed it to look like a Log Book! Novel idea, wouldn't you agree?

Can DiveTracker do <Insert your Idea Here>?
If there's something you need added, let me know! I already have plans to add an "Equipment" tab, enhanced graphing and reporting capabilities, and Nitrox and Altitude support. Consider DiveTracker a "work in progress," because as I get more requests, I'll keep adding functionality!

I want to register, but I think I'll wait for those enhancements...
Don't wait! Every person who registers gets free upgrades for life! (There is no version information embedded in your registration code, so you can download any future versions and be assured they will work with your registration key.)

Also, each registered user is allowed 5 registration keys with each registration payment so your entire family can use DiveTracker. That's right, you get 5 copies for the price of 1! (All 5 copies must used by immediate family members only.)

I registered, but I've reinstalled/upgraded/changed my computer, and now my registration key isn't working?
Each registration key is unique to the computer it's corresponding registration code was generated on. If you experience any difficulties with a registration key, just contact me and I can issue you a new key.

What kind of database does DiveTracker use?
DiveTracker does not use a database. All Personal, Training, and Dive Data is stored in a fixed record file. This allows the greatest flexibile for small size and speed. An import/export feature will soon be added, which will allow you to transfer your data with other programs.

What is Shareware, what does DiveTracker cost, and what's different in the Registered version?
Shareware is freely distributable software (so feel free to give the program to anyone!). Usually the shareware version is limited in someway, so you can try out the program, but can't use it to it's full potential until it's registered. The Shareware version of DiveTracker is fully functional, meaning no features have been disabled or removed, but you are limited to entering only 15 dives. There is no expiration date, so you can try the program for as long as you like. Registration is just $30, and can be done here. Once registered, each dive log can hold up to 999 dives, and there is no limit to the number of dive logs. You could have a different log for each person, each year, each dive site, etc. (Or one big log with everything if you prefer.)
